What happens after shelter?

For many individuals who are leaving shelter to be placed in permanent housing, the journey toward resilience is just beginning.

Sunstone Way’s Mobile Retention Team is there to help bridge that gap!

This team travels around the area, meeting former shelter participants at their new homes. They provide a connection with much-needed services like transportation, hygiene and housekeeping support, and rental assistance. This support ensures that individuals placed in permanent housing, stay housed.

“The goal of the Retention Team is not just to see that the rent is paid, it's to allow people the opportunity to build connectedness, to gain a better sense of self, to develop efficacy, to develop meaning, and to hopefully look for belonging.”
