Located in North Portland, the Delta Park Motel Shelter is a 24/7 site offering 60 private units and the capacity to serve up to 70 adults at a time. Designed as more than a place to sleep, the shelter provides comprehensive, trauma-informed wraparound services that support participants as they stabilize, heal, and work toward permanent housing. Onsite staff are available around the clock, offering case management, behavioral health support, and connections to essential resources. Rooted in community partnership and a commitment to being good neighbors, Delta Park reflects Sunstone Way’s vision of shelter as a place of connection, care, and forward movement. 

  • A motel shelter is a form of shelter housing that provides individuals or families experiencing homelessness with private motel or hotel rooms, typically featuring lockable doors and basic amenities. Developed initially to support people with high health or safety needs, motel shelters offer a low-barrier, dignified environment that promotes stability, safety, and connection to supportive services while residents work toward permanent housing.

    Every participant who walks through a Sunstone Way shelter door has access to a variety of wrap-around services, including behavioral health care, case management, resource navigation, and peersupport. We pride ourselves on setting up each participant to have consistent and regular contact with a dedicated, compassionate, and trauma-informed team. This builds trust and sets a path for reducing stress and building resiliency, allowing them to move forward on the path to hope and housing.
